美国留学经济补助如何申请

　　国际学生经济支助

　　艾莫利大学致力于组建国际化的优秀大一学生班级。鉴于这一宗旨，学校每年都为国际学生提供有基于需求的经济支助。同时学校鼓励国际学生通过艾莫利大学奖学金项目申请基于优秀的奖学金(申请截止日期是11月15日)。

　　Inordertobeconsideredforaneed-basedfinancialassistance,internationalstudentsneedsimplyapplyunderourRegularDecisionplan.AninternationalstudentisconsideredastudentwhoisNOTaU.S.citizenandNOTaU.S.permanentresident.StudentswhoholdF1,F2,J1,J2,orGseriesvisasorothereligiblenon-citizens(humanitarianparole,Cuban-HaitianEntrant,refugeestatus,asylum)areconsideredinternationalstudents.Pleasenote,theseareafewofthemanyvisasandimmigrationcategoriesweworkwithintheadmissionprocess.

　　为了申请到基于需求的经济支助，国际学生只需要在定期决定计划下申请。国际学生指的是非美国公民或非美国永久性居民学生。持有F1、F2、J1、J2、G系列签证的学生或其他有资格的非公民(人道主义假释、Cuban-Haitian进入者、难民身份、庇护)，被视作国际学生。需要注意的是这些只是学校在申请审理过程中要处理的签证和移民类型的一小部分。

　　Internationalstudentswhoapplyforneed-basedfinancialaidwillbereviewedasaseparatecohortofapplicants.Inouradmissionprocess,wemustbeneed-awareforinternationalstudents.ThismeansthatwhenreviewingapplicationsfromstudentswhoarenotcitizensorPermanentResidentsoftheUnitedStates,EmoryUniversitytakesintoaccountwhetherornotanapplicanthasrequestedfinancialassistance.Asaresultofthisneed-awareapproachandthelimitedfundsavailabletointernationalstudents,Emorysadmissionrateforinternationalapplicantsrequestingneed-basedfinancialaidisnotablylowerthantherateofacceptanceforthosestudentsnotrequestingaid.Becauseofthis,weadvisestudentstoapplyforfinancialaidonlyiftheydonothavetheresourcestofundtheireducation,andtocompletethefinancialaidformasaccuratelyaspossible.

　　对于申请基于需求的经济补助的国际学生，学校将其作为单独的申请人类型来审核。在审理申请的过程中，学校必须要意识到国际学生的需求。这即是说在申请非美国公民或非美国永久性居民学生的申请的时候，艾莫利大学会考虑申请人是否申请经济补助。这样一来由于学校的注重需求的意识和有限的可供国际学生利用的基金，艾莫利大学申请经济补助的国际学生的入学比率明显低于不申请经济补助的国际学生的入学比率。鉴于此学校建议学生只在无力支付学费的情况下才申请经济支助，并且尽可能地将经济支助表填写准确。

　　国际学生只在招生期间申请支助，才有资格申请经济补助。确信自己在艾莫利大学学习期间都需要经济补助的学生，必须在招生期间申请经济补助。只有申请并在第一学年享受到经济补助的学生，才有资格申请接下来几年的经济补助。

　　InternationalstudentsreceivingfinancialaidfromEmoryCollegemustplantocontributefundingtowardstheireducationalexpenses.Forexample,studentswillberesponsiblefortravelexpensestotheU.S.fromtheirhomecountry.EmoryUniversitycannotassumeresponsibilityforeconomicchangessuchascurrencyfluctuation,norcanitreplacelostsupportthatastudentmayhaveexpectedtoreceivefromrelatives,sponsors,orgovernmentandcorporategrants.

　　拿到艾莫利大学经济不补助的国际学生，必须做好自付教育开销的准备。例如学生需要自付出国旅费。对于诸如币值波动导致的经济变化，艾莫利大学不承担责任;对于因享有经济补助而失去本该享受的来自亲戚、赞助人、政府的支助，学校也不承担责任。

　　在获取永久性居住身份的过程中，学生应意识到，在自己拿到移民身份实际文件并将文件提交到学校之前，不能享受州的经济补助。

　　另外申请经济补助的国际学生需要提交以下文件：

　　International/FinancialCertificationform(FIF),whichshouldbecompletedandreturnedtotheOfficeofAdmission.TheCollegeBoardcertificationoffinancesformisalsoacceptableinadditiontoanoteorstatementfromyourbankorfinancialinstitutionasproofoffunding.(duebyJanuary1,2017)

　　经济证明表。该表应填写完整，交到招生办公室。经济证明也可以是银行或相关金融机构开具的陈述。(截止日期为2017年1月1日)

　　U.S.Immigration

　　Ifadmitted,youwillreceiveanofficiallettercertifyingthefactthatyouhavebeenapprovedforadmissionandinformingyouaboutdatesforregistrationandthebeginningoftheterm.YoushouldnotmakeplanstoleaveyourcountryuntilyouhavereceivedvisadocumentsfromtheUniversitydivisiontowhichyouseekadmission.EachinternationalstudentisrequiredbyU.S.ImmigrationLawstoregisterasafull-timestudenteachsemester,exceptthesummerterm.

　　美国移民

　　如果被录取，你将收到官方信;官方信会告诉你录取事实、注册时间和开学时间。在收到你所申请的大学院系的的签证文件之前，不要计划离开自己的国家。根据美国移民法，除了夏季学期，每个国际学生每个学期都需要注册为全日制学生。

　　Everyinternationalstudentmusthaveapassportorofficialtraveldocumentfromhostnationifarefugee.Mostpassportsarevalidforalimitedtime.Beforetheexpirationdate,aninternationalstudentmusthavethepassportrenewedathisorhercountry'snearestconsulateorembassyintheUnitedStates.ToreceiveavisatoentertheUnitedStates,moststudentswillreceiveaForm1-20orDS2019.Unlessyouarefromacountrynotsubjecttovisarestrictions,thisformmustbetakenbythestudenttoaU.S.ConsulateOffice.TheConsulatewillissuethevisaandmarkitinyourpassport.

　　如果国际学生具有难民身份，必须持有护照或者美国开具的官方旅行文件，才能入境。大部分护照只在特定时间内有限。在失效前国际学生必须在就近的领事馆或大使馆更新护照。为了拿到签证入境美国，不部分学生需要持有1-20或DS2019。除非所在国家没有签证限制，否则学生必须将1-20或DS2019带到美国领事馆办公室。领事馆负责签发签证，在护照上做标记。

　　UponarrivalataportofentrytotheUnitedStates,presentthepassportandformI-20orDS2019toreceiveanArrival/DepartureRecord(FormI-94).PermissiontostayintheUnitedStateswillbeforthedurationofyourstatusasabonafidenon-immigrantstudent.

　　作为签证要求一部分，国际学生的护照上必须有签证许可，才能入境美国。如果你自己所在的国家只允许你持J类型签证出国，你需要告诉学校。

　　到达美国入境口之后，出示护照和I-20(DS2019)，登记入境。居留美国的准许期限为你以真实非移民学生身份居留的期限。

　　注：申请到艾莫利大学的课程名额、提交经济证明之后，学校才会给你签发I-20(DS2019)。

　　Insurance

　　MedicalinsuranceismandatoryforinternationalstudentsatEmoryandOxford.AllinternationalstudentsautomaticallywillbeenrolledintheAccidentandSicknessInsuranceforEmoryUniversityStudentsplanunlessthestudentshowsthatheorshehasequalcoveragepriortohisorherregistration.Onceaccepted,eachstudentwillreceivefurtherinformationaboutthemandatoryinsuranceregulationfromtheInternationalStudentandScholarProgramsOffice.

　　保险

　　国际学生在艾莫利大学学习，必须缴纳医疗保险。国际学生注册的时候，默认为缴纳艾莫利大学事故和疾病保险，除非学生能证明在注册之前已经缴纳同等保险。一旦被接受每个学生将可以从国际学生学者项目办公室了解强制性保险相关规定。

　　国际学生学者服务办公室提供有服务，以便你适应新的文化和新的教育体制。国际学生学者服务办公室帮助具有F-1和J-1签证的学生维持自己的合法地位，申请移民相关福利。辅导员通过邮件和国际学生学者服务办公室网站提供移民信息，并在私下和约定时间亲自对学生进行辅导。国际学生学者服务办公室也有诸如国际学生就业主题的研讨会。
