LiuQian'sventureintoprofessionalmagicprovedfruitful.Hestoodoutinmanycontestsandconventions,andtookfirstplaceintheinternationalWorldMagicSeminarAsiain2003.Theincreaseinfamebroughthimmoreshowinvitationsandmoreapplause.Notcontentwithhissuccessonstage,LiuQianexpandedhiscareerintoTV.HebeganhostingaTVprogrammenamedMagicStaronChina'sStarTVin2001,andhisamusingperformancesquicklymadetheprogramthemostpopularoneonStarTV.

LiuQiangavehisfirstlivestreetshowintheprogram.Streetshowsarethebiggestchallengeforusmagicians.Wegotostreets,roadsandfieldstodoshowsforpedestrians,policemanandpeasants.Wehavetocopewithunexpectedsituationsandtoughcrowds.Therefore,ithelpsgreatlyrefineourperformingabilities.

LiuQiannowplanstoperformprimarilyontheChinesemainland,wherehecanworkamongaudienceswhosharehisculturalbackground.Heplanstocontinueimprovingonhiscraftwithanewtypeofmagicshowcalledmentalism,whichpurportstoforetellthefutureandreadpeople'sminds.
