not until 的主句从句的时态：

1、一般过去时：

例：I didn't leave the house until he came back.

释义：直到他回来我才离开家。

2、过去完成时：

例：I hadn't tried coffee before until he brought me some yesterday.

释义：直到昨天他给我带了一些咖啡，我才喝过咖啡。

3、一般现在时：

例：Don't leave until I come back.

释义：在我回来之前不要离开。

4、现在完成时：

例：I haven't thought that until you mentioned.

释义：直到你提到我才想到那件事。

5、一般将来时：

例：I won't leave until you do.

释义：你不走我就不走。

6、将来完成时：

例：I won't have finished it before Sunday until you guys leave me alone.

释义：除非你们让我一个人呆着，否则星期天之前我是不会完成的。

1、not until 后边一般是时间点，如：

例句：It was not until midnight that it stopped raining.

释义：直到半夜雨才停下来。

例句：It was not until five o'clock in the afternoon that they finished their work.

2、 not until 后边也可以是陈述的句子，如：

例句：It was not until he came to China that he realized the great change in recent decades.

3、not until 后边还可跟介词短语，如：

例句：It was not until after Friday that I got his reply.

可以注意到在以上列举的例句中，“it was not until .... that 从句”句式中的“that 从句”部分都是采用一般的陈述语序（类似于宾语从句）。时态上一般采用过去时，与 it was 相呼应。

4、not 与 until 也可以分开，如：
