at the party和for the party的区别
为了派对for the party，在派对上at the party
如：What is he going to do for the party? 他打算为聚会做什么?
There are six children at the party. 在聚会上有六个小朋友
一般说来表示集体性活动的名称之前通常用介词 at，这类名词除 party 外，还有 meeting, conference, funeral, dance 等。如：
There was any amount of food and drink at the party. 聚会上有的是吃的喝的。
She spoke for forty minutes at the conference. 她在会上讲了四十分钟。
Only the nearest relatives were present at the funeral. 只有几位近亲参加了葬礼。
I saw many people at the dance. 我在舞会上看到很多人。
当然如果不是表示“在聚会上”，也可以用其他介词的，比如用 to 表示“去参加聚会”。
如：
He persuaded her into going to the party. 他说服她参加这次聚会。
Everyone brought their partner to the party. 所有人都携伴参加聚会。
I’ve asked David to come to the party. 我已经邀请了大卫来参加派对。
