kind of 和 kinds of 虽然都表示种类,但用法截然不同.1、指“同一个种类的…”时用单数的kind of,单数的 kind 前只能用能表示单数概念的修饰词,of 后也只能用单数名词.如：a kind of book 一种书the kind of book 该种书this/that kind of book 这种/那种书the same kind of book 同一种书what kind of book 哪一种书some kind of book 某一种书any kind of book 任何一种书2、指“不同种类的…”,用kinds of.复数的 kind 前只能用能表示复数概念的修饰词,of 后也只能用复数名词.如：two kinds of animals 两种动物these/those kinds of animals 这些/哪些种动物different kinds of animals不同种类的动物many kinds of animals 好多种动物what kinds of animals 哪些种类动物some kinds of animals 几种动物any kinds of animals 任何不同种类的动物3、由上述例子可以看出,只有既可以修饰单数名词的又可以修饰复数名词的 what、some、any 等形容词才能用在 kind 或 kinds 前.你所举的例子 What kinds of books do you like? 意思是“你喜欢哪些种类的书籍?”.如果改为 What kind of book do you like?,意思变成了“你喜欢哪一种书籍?”.究竟用 kind 还是kinds,需要视语境而定.另外There are many kind of animals in the zoo 这个句子不知道你从什么地方看到的,many 后不能用单数 kind,所以这是个错句.切记不要把在不可靠地方摘抄的句子作为佐证.
