there is与there are的区别

three are和there is都是表示“有，存在”的意思。

is是单数形式，are是复数形式。当主语是单数的时候，用there is例如：There is an apple. 那有个苹果。当主语是复数的时候，用there are例如： There are there apples. 那有三个苹果。

另外There be句型中be动词的单复数形式由后面挨近的一项的单复数决定。如：There is a pen, two books and many pencils on the desk.在本句中尽管有钢笔、书和铅笔，但是由于离be动词最近的一项是单数a pen，所以be动词用单数is。又如：有一本书和三只猫。There is a book and three cats.反过来，有三只猫和一本书。 There are three cats and a book.一、there is意为“有”后加单数名词、不可数名词或者复数名词表示单个概念，句型为there is+第三人称单数可数不可数名词+地点状语。例句：There is a book.这儿有一本书。There is some bread.这儿有一些面包。There is five hundred dollars to pay.有五百美元要付。There is a lack of knowledge about the tax system.大家对税制缺乏了解。There is no difference between the two in quantitative terms.两者在数量上毫无差别。
