increase怎么用

用increase 表达连续增长： increasing。

例如：.Expanding populations are subjecting the land to increasing pressures to provide them with food and fuel. 在这里increasing是present participle，当作形容词，是形容pressures，increasing pressure的意思是“不断增加的压力”，subject to的意思是使……承受。provide在这里是动词，又在to的后面，所以用原形动词。这句话的意思是：不断增长的人口是土地承受了持续增加的压力去提供食物与燃料。而 increased表示已经增加的，例如：The semiarid lands bordering the deserts exist in a delicate ecological balance and are limited in their potential to adjust to increased environmental pressures. to increased :这里不用原型 increase或ing形式，increased也是当形容词用，意思是已经增加的（环境压力）。所以持续不断还在增加，用increasing。
