二者两大区别：区别一，后接词性不同。

so＋形容词，副词或分词＋that＋其它成分。such＋形容词＋名词＋that＋其它成分。区别二引导的状语从句不同。so that —— 表“目的”,即 that 后面的句子所表达的是前面句子“计划”达到的目的。是引导的目的状语。such that —— 表“结果”,即 that 后面的句子所表达的是前面句子带来的结果。引导的是结果状语。具体举例如下。so that的用法：so that可以连在一起引导结果从句时，可以分开，也可以放在一起。so that分开时，so后面可接“形容词，副词或分词；so位于句首，主句的主谓要倒装。

1， The book was so boring that he gave up reading it half way through.这本书非常乏味，他读了一半就不读了。

2 ，He spoke so rapidly that we could not clearly understand him.他说得太快，使我们无法清楚地了解他的意思。

3 ，So badly was he injured that he had to be sent to the hospital.他的伤势很重，不得不送医院。

4， Susan was so exhausted that she couldn’t eat dinner.苏姗疲惫得吃不下晚餐。such that的用法：such (…) that只用来引导结果状语从句。such后面可以接单数可数名词，复数可数名词，不可数名词。such放在句首，主谓要倒装。

2 ，This book is written in such easy English that beginners can understand it.这本书是用浅易的英语写的，所以初学者可以读懂。

3 ，They are such fine teachers that we all hold them in great respect.他们是非常好的老师，我们对他们极为尊敬。

4 ，The shock was such (= so great) that he was almost driven mad.因为打击太大，她差点发疯了。

5， Such was the force of the eruption that the whole town was covered with ash.火山爆发的威力大得使整个城市都被火山灰淹没了。
