ThespeechwasgivenbyamanagerinaplaceIwasworking.Hewasgivingaspeechtosaygoodbyetooneofourcolleagueswhowasleavingtosetupasanindependentconsultant,butwhohadworkedattheorganisationaverylongtime,perhapsfortyyears.Everyonewassadtoseethispersongo,astheywereverypopular,butweallwishedthemwellandunderstoodwhytheyfelttheyneededtomoveon.Itwasareasonablybigworkforce,soaboutsixtyofushadgatheredintheopen-planofficetosaygoodbyeandpresentagifttoourdepartingfriendandco-worker.
