托福口语Task4属于学术类的托福综合口语,考查形式为阅读材料Reading【45s】+听力材料Listening+口语答题时间Speaking【60s】,和托福口语task3类似,答题前我们会有30s的准备时间。
阅读:
先阅读一段短文:对一种学术现象或者概念的概括。
听力:
听教授对阅读中的学术现象,进行详细的解释,通常会通过具体的例子来说明。
口语:
你的任务是结合阅读内容和教授的例子,概括并解释该学术现象。
怎样解决托福口语task4
一、阅读
在考生进行托福口语task4的考试的时候,首先就需要读一段75-100个单词的文章。对于很多考生而言在这个题目中遇到的难点主要是阅读文章中的内容比较多,很多考生在阅读的时候不知道该重点记下的答题要点是哪些。在officialguide中是这样描述task4中的阅读部分的意义的,readingpassagebroadlydefinesaterm,process,orideafromanacademicsubject。所以考生在阅读的过程中应该重点关注一些表示定义的信号词比如.isknownas./.iscalled/.isoftenreferredtoas.。比如在TPO1task4中,教授要讲授的主要内容groupthink就是通过isknownas引出的,即Oneprocessbywhichgroupsmaymakebadorirrationaldecisionsisknownasgroupthink。所以考生在阅读的过程中就应该重点关注这些信息。
二.听力
听力也是task4中的一个拦路虎,很多考生在这个题目中取得的分数比较低的原因是根本听不懂听力中的例子是怎样展开的,所以如果考生想要攻克托福口语task4中的听力,就应该掌握在这部分听力中经常出现的3E结构,即experience,experiment和example。Experience类的材料中,教授经常会用亲身经历或者家人朋友的经历来说明学术概念,考生只需要通过掌握在听力中的时间线索就可以轻松的掌握答题要点。其次是Experiment类听力材料,一旦出现这种类型的考题,考生需要带着实验目的,实验的对象和工具,实验的过程和结论如何这四点去听听力材料。最后在考生听到example的时候,考生应该把听的重点放在教授是怎样用例子来证明自己的观点的。比如在TPO7task4的听力中,考生重点关注的就是教授为了证明自己的观点behaviormodification所举的两个例子即】:

INDEPENDENTSPEAKINGTASKS
