缩写简介	The Tokyo Biochemical Research Foundation (TBRF) and its Institute, the Tokyo Biochemical Research Institute were established in December, 1960, with the endowment from Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., on the initiative of Juzo Ueno, the then president of the company, who responded to a proposal made by Morizo Ishidate, professor emeritus of the University of Tokyo, and several scientists responsible for medical and pharmaceutical research. The Institute performed biochemical studies on steroids, monosaccharides, polyamines, chemical carcinogens, and tumor immunology, which were highly evaluated and awarded prizes from several academic societies.
