1、故事发生在可可西里，位于中国西部、青藏高原的中心地带。

2、1985年以前，可可西里生存有大约100万只珍贵的高原动物藏羚羊，随着盗猎者纷纷涌入可可西里血腥屠杀，短短几年间，藏羚羊几乎被杀戮殆尽。

3、影片讲述当地的志愿巡山保护队在队长日泰带领下的一次追击盗猎者的行动，最终的结局却是悲剧性的，包括日泰在内的绝大多数队员在行动过程中牺牲，巡山保护队全军覆没。

4、The story happened in Mountain Patrol, the central part of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in West China. Before 1985, there were about one million Tibetan antelope. They are precious plateau animals. However, with more and more poachers slaughtering them, Tibetan antelopes are nearly gone. This movie describes the story that local volunteers led by their team leader Ri Tai chase the poachers.
