ProtectionoftheEnvironmentOncemandidnothavetothinkabouttheprotectionofhisenvironment.Therewerefewpeopleontheearth,andnaturalresourcesseemedtobeunlimited.Todaythingsaredifferent.Theworldhasbecometoocrowded.Weareusingupournaturalresources,andpollutingourenvironmentwithdangerouschemicals.Ifwecontinuetodothis,humanlifeonearthwillnotsurvive.Werealizethatiftoomanyfisharetakenfromthesea,therewillsoonbenoneleft.Yet,withmodernfishingmethods,moreandmorefisharecaught.Weknowthatiftoomanytreesarecutdown,forestswilldisappear.Yet,wecontinuetousepowerfulmachinestocutdownmoreandmoretrees.Weseethatifriversarepollutedwithwasteproducts,wewilldie.Yet,wasteproductsarestillputintorivers.Weknowthatifthepopulationcontinuestoriseatthepresentrate,inafewyears,therewon’tbeenoughfood.Whatcanwedotosolvetheseproblems?Ifweeatmorevegetablesandlessmeat,therewillbemorefoodavailable.Landforcropsfeedsfivetimesmorepeoplethanlandwhereanimalsarekept.Ournaturalresourceswilllastlongerifwelearntorecyciethem.Theworldpopulationwillnotrisesoquicklyifpeopleusemodernmethodsofbirthcontrol.Finally,ifweeducatepeopletothinkabouttheproblemsweshallhaveabetterandcleanerplanetinthefuture.
