TempleFair庙会

　　ThemostimportantholidayfortheChineseistheChineseNewYear,alsocalledtheSpringFestival.Duringthefestivalperiod,everyonegoesbacktotheirhometownandspendsseveraldayswithfamily,andpeopleholdmanycelebrations.Beijinghasseveralfairsduringtheperiod.Thefairsareheldatvariousancienttemples,sotheyarecalledtemplefairs.Templefairs,originatedalongwiththedevelopmentofBuddhistandTaoistactivities,areakindofmassgatheringsthatintegratereligiousworship,entertainmentandmerce.

　　TemplefairsinBeijinghaveaverylonghistory,andsawaboomespeciallyduringtheMingandQingdynasties（1368-1911）aswellastheRepublicofChina（1912-1949）.Majortemplesallhavetheirownfestivals,someofwhichareheldregularly.DuringtheSpringFestival,templefairisoneofthemostimportantactivities,andatraditionalculturaleventthatfeaturesallkindsofChinesefolkart.Sofar,therehavebeenmorethan10majortemplefairsheldeachyearinBeijing.
