ShouldWeHelpOthersinNeed?

　　Thepictureillustrateswhatweareoftensorrytoseeinmodemsociety：anoldmanislyingontheground，whilethepassers-byareallhesitatingoverwhethertoofferhelpornot，fearingthatitmayincurunwantedtrouble.

　　Frommyperspective，therearetworeasonsthatmayaccountforthisphenomenon：ononehand,itisreportedthatsomepeoplewimevilintentionsadoptthismethodtoblackmailthosefriendlyandhelpfulpeople.Sopeoplenowaremorerisk-consciousandwaryofsuchdeceits.Ontheotherhand，duetotheincreasingpressuresfrommodernlifeandthewell.acceptedconceptthattimeismoney,peopletendtocaremoreaboutthemselvesthanothers，nottomentionhelpingastranger.

　　However,asweallknow,beingaccommodatinghasalwaysbeenseenasavirtueinChineseculture.Weshouldsticktoandcarryonthisfinetradition.Ofcoursc，weshouldalsolookoutforpotentialhazardssoasnottobedeceived.

　　我们应该帮助有困难的人吗?

　　这张图片描述了在现代社会我们很遗憾地经常看到的一种现象：一名老人躺在地上，而路人都在犹豫是否提供帮助，因为他们担心这会带来不必要的麻烦。

　　在我看来，有两个原因能解释这种现象：在一方面，有报道说具有不良意图的一些人用这种办法来敲诈那些友善的、乐于助人的人。所以人们现在更具有风险意识，对这种骗局更加警觉。在另一方面由于日益增长的现代生活压力和被普遍接受的“时间就是金钱”的观念，人们更关心自己，不太关心别人，更不要提帮助陌生人了。

　　但是，总所周知，在中国文化中，乐于助人一直被看作是一种美德。我们应该坚持并发扬这一优良传统。当然我们也应该小心提防潜在的危险，以防被骗。
