中华人民共和国国土面积960万平方公里，在这块土地上最适合的居住人数是6亿7千万。康熙年间人口增长速度已经凸显，到了雍正年间推行了摊丁入亩之后，人口暴增，而西方自文艺复兴和工业革命之后，机器代替了手工，大大提高了生产率，而我们是农业大国并且闭关锁国，人口增长速度高于GDP的增长速度，因此导致我们虽然是世界上最有钱的国家，但是人均后就赶不上西方发达国家。

随着互联网的普及与发展，特别进入了2.0时代，物联网更加凸显，中国人口众多，其数据价值、市场潜力不可估量，现代世界格局正由大西洋转向太平洋，亚洲国家30亿人口，而且贫富差距比较大，这就势必产生很大的发展空间，物联网的到来结合亚洲，乃至中国，会提供大量的数据支持，这将对世界产生非常大长远影响，会改变人类的消费习惯。

因此人口多的劣势是，一旦人口增长速度低于GDP那将会出现饥民，社会保障体系难以完全保障。
