英国警队日前的一项调研建议所有的警察都应该参加年度体能测试，而那些屡次没有通过者将面临减薪的处罚。

IntheMetropolitanPolice,morethanhalf(52percent)ofitsmaleofficersareoverweight,afifth(22pecent)areobese,andonein100aremorbidlyobesethereportshowed.ForwomenofficersintheMet,athird(32percent)areoverweight,16percentareobeseand2percentaremorbidlyobese.

TomWinsor,whohascarriedoutthewidest-rangingreviewofpolicepayandconditionsinmorethan30years,saidthosewhofailthetestthreetimesshouldbesubjecttodisciplinaryproceduresandapaycut.

MrWinsorsaid:Ithinkthepublicwillbesurprisedthatafterpassingafitnesstestatthepointofentry,exceptinspecialunitslikefirearms,physicalfitnessisnottestedagainina30,35-yearcareer.

温瑟先生表示：“我想公众一定会大吃一惊：在登记时通过体能测试之后，除了在特种部队的炮兵外，其他所有的警察在30或35年的职业生涯里都没有进行过体能测试。”

ButthisshouldgettougherbySeptember2018,alongsimilarlinestothetestcurrentlyusedinNorthernIreland.Thisincludesclimbingoverwallsandpullingbodiesandwasdesignedtoreflectsituationswhichpoliceofficersdoandcanbecomeinvolvedin.

而新的体能测试到2018年9月会更难，因为这项测试将会向北爱尔兰目前采用的测试标准看齐。其中包括翻墙和拖动人体等项目，这些都是根据“警察经常要做而且贴合实际”的情况而设计的。

FormerWestMidlandschiefconstableSirEdwardCrew,whoworkedonthereview,said:Wearenotlookingforsupermen.MrWinsorpredictedthatmanyofficerswouldwelcometheproposals,sayingtheywouldseeitasanecessaryprotectionforthemselvesandthepublic.

西米德兰兹郡的前任郡警察局长爱德华先生也参与了此次的调研，他表示说：“我们并不是说想在警队里寻找超人。”温瑟先生估计会有许多警员对这项提议表示欢迎，表示他们都会视其为“一项利人利己的保护措施。”
