Reportsofallegedcomputercrimehavebeenahotnewsitemoflate.Especiallyalarmingistherealizationthatmanyofthemastermindsbehindthesecriminalactsaremerekids.Infact,childrennolongerneedtobehighlyskilledinordertoexecutecybercrimes.HackertoolsareeasilyavailableontheNetand,oncedownloaded,canbeusedbyevennovicecomputerusers.Thisgreatlyexpandsthepopulationofpossiblewrongdoers.Children(andinsomecases-theirparents)oftenthinkthatshuttingdownordefacingWebsitesorreleasingnetworkvirusesareamusingpranks.Kidsmightnotevenrealizethatwhattheyaredoingisillegal.Stillotherkidsmightfindthemselveshangingoutonlinewithskilledhackerswhosharehackingtoolswiththemandencouragethemtodoinappropriatethingsonline.Unfortunately,someofthesekidsdon'trealizethattheyarecommittingcrimesuntilitistoolate.EvenmoredistressinganddifficulttocombatisthefactthatsomeinthemediaportraythecomputercriminalasamoderndayRobinHood.Nothingcouldbefurtherfromthetruth.
