Allhedgehogsareprimarilynocturnal,althoughdifferentspeciescanbemoreorlesslikelytocomeoutinthedaytime.Thehedgehogsleepsforalargeportionofthedaytimeeitherundercoverofbushorgrassorrockorinaholeintheground.Again,differentspeciescanhaveslightlydifferenthabits,butingeneralhedgehogsdigoutdensforshelter.Allwildhedgehogscanhibernate,althoughnotalldo;hibernationdependsontemperature,abundanceoffoodandspecies.Hedgehogsarefairlyvocal,andcommunicatenotonlyinaseriesofgruntsandsnuffles,butsometimesinloudsqueals(dependingonspecies).

Diet

Domesticatedhedgehogs
