（2）SummercanbeveryhotinsouthernTaiwanwherethetemperatureusuallygoesupto32Cormore.Becauseoftheheatitisatryingexperiencetogotoschoolordoanythingelseinaplacethatisnotair-conditioned.AlsobecauseofthisIstayathomemostofthetimeduringthesummervacationandonlyoccasionallygotothebeachtoplungemyselfintothecoolwaterasawaytokeepmybodylesssticky.ActuallyIlikeswimmingandthinknothingismorerefreshingthanaswim.InthesummervacationthathasjustendedIwentswimmingmanytimeswithmyclassmatesandweallhadagoodtime.Thissummervacation,however,wasnotspententirelyinseekingfun.Asasecond-yearseniorstudentIhadtopreparemyselfforthecollegeentranceexaminationsthatwereonlyayearaway.Inotherwords,Imustfindtimetostudy,too.SoIdividedmytimebetweenworkandplayduringthesummervacationandderivedmuchbenefitfromthisarrangement.

（3）Ispentthissummervacationinquiteadifferentway.Iusedtorunabouteverydayinprevioussummervacations,butthissummervacationIsimplycouldnotaffordtodoso.Iwouldsoonbeinthelastyearofmyhigh-schooleducationandwouldaftergraduationbeupagainstthecollegeentranceexaminations.Thoughthoseexaminationswerestillayearaway,IhadtostartearlytomakemyselfwellpreparedbyreviewingallthosethingsIhadlearnedatschoolandthissummervacationwastheidealtimeformetodothis.AtfirstIwasratherdismayedatthethoughtofthis,butlaterIthoughtitwasbetterthiswaybecausebyworkinghardthissummerIcouldcountonendlesshappysummerstocome.WiththisinmindIthensettoworklikeanythingandonlyoccasionallywentoutforachangeordidsomephysical.Iwasnotatallboredbythiskindoflife,forIwassustainedbyahope.
