Theresearchersfoundthatwomenwiththehighestconcentrationsoftwotypesofphthalates-mono-benzylphthalateandmono-isobutylphthalate-werenearlytwotimesmorelikelytohavediabetescomparedtowomenwiththeleastamountsofthesechemicals.Womenwithmoderatelyhighlevelsofthephthalatesmono-n-butylphthalateanddi-2-ethylhexylphthalatewere70percentmorelikelytohavediabetescomparedtotheircounterparts.
