I was delighted to receive your email asking about Chinese traditional festivals. Among all the festivals in China, my favorite one is the Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year.

The Spring Festival is a time of joy and celebration, marking the beginning of a new year. It usually falls in late January or early February. During this time, people clean their houses to sweep away bad luck and make room for good fortune. We also decorate our homes with red lanterns, couplets, and paper cuttings.

The most exciting part of the Spring Festival is the family reunion. We gather together with our family members to have a big meal. We also exchange gifts and give red envelopes with money to children. Another interesting activity is the dragon and lion dances, which symbolize good luck and happiness.
