In English, the if clause is used to express conditions and their consequences. There are three main types of if clauses: conditional, real conditional, and zero conditional.

Zero Conditional: This is used for universally true statements. The structure is if + present simple, subject + present simple. Example: If I heat water, it will boil.

Each type of if clause serves to convey different aspects of conditions and their outcomes, making it essential to use the correct form to accurately express the intended meaning.
