Once upon a time, there was a teacher named Mr. Smith who was known for his love of teaching and his quirky sense of humor. One day, he decided to teach his class about fractions. He drew a large pie on the board and divided it into eight slices. As you can see, he said, this pie represents the whole, and these eight slices represent the fraction of one-eighth.
Just then, a student named Tim raised his hand and asked, Mr. Smith, what if we want to eat the whole pie?
Mr. Smith paused, looking thoughtful. Ah, that's a good question, Tim. Well, in that case, he said, picking up a slice of pie, you would have to eat seven-eighths of the pie to make it a whole!
The class erupted in laughter, and Mr. Smith smiled, knowing he had just made a fraction of his day much more enjoyable.
